Logitech G435 Mic Not Being Recognized in Discord - Help!
-
Hey everyone, I recently got the Logitech G435 headset, and I’m having trouble getting the microphone to work in Discord. The headset works fine for audio output, but Discord doesn’t seem to recognize the microphone at all. I’ve checked the audio settings in Discord, and the G435 is selected as the input device, but there’s no input activity. I’m running Windows 10. What logitech g435 software do I need? Anyone have any advice?

Discord can be finicky with audio devices. It might be an issue with the logitech g435 software or with Discord itself. Ensure the Correct Input Device is Selected: In Discord, go to User Settings > Voice & Video. Double-check that the Logitech G435 is selected as both the Input Device and Output Device. Sometimes, Discord can get confused after a device update.
Check Windows Sound Settings:
Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select “Open Sound settings.”
Under “Input,” make sure the G435 is selected. Click “Device properties” and ensure the “Disable” box is not checked. Click “Additional device properties” and go to the “Levels” tab. Make sure the microphone volume is turned up and that the microphone boost is set appropriately. Go to the “Advanced” tab and make sure the “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device” box is checked.
Install logitech g435 software: First head to https://logisofter.com/logitech-g435-driver-and-software/ There, ensure that you install the software and use it to test the Mic. Discord Voice Settings: In Discord, scroll down to “Advanced” and try disabling “Noise Suppression,” “Automatic Gain Control,” and “Echo Cancellation.” These features can sometimes interfere with microphone input. Run Discord as Administrator: Right-click the Discord shortcut and select “Run as administrator.” This gives Discord the necessary permissions to access your microphone. Update Discord: Ensure that Discord is up to date. -
Thanks so much for the detailed advice! Giving Discord administrator privileges and then also looking at all of the voice settings was the trick. I am now able to have my microphone being recognized in Discord. It turns out that “Noise Suppression” was the culprit; disabling that immediately fixed the issue. I now have the correct logitech g435 software.
