Thanks so much for the detailed advice! Giving Discord administrator privileges and then also looking at all of the voice settings was the trick. I am now able to have my microphone being recognized in Discord. It turns out that “Noise Suppression” was the culprit; disabling that immediately fixed the issue. I now have the correct logitech g435 software.
